Unite Skills Academy Wins Championship Against RGV Team Elite

Saturdays battle between one of the best 6th grade girls teams from San Antonio and one of the best from the valley proved to be what the crowd at Factory of Champions had been waiting for.

Ralph Torres’s Team Elite came into the Excel Winterfest with an amazing resume. Marco Rivera’s Unite Skills Academy girls resume is pretty amazing as well. With probably the two most physical teams that we have seen all year, the two groups battled for 2 hard fought halves with the lead changing multiple times.

Unite Skills led by Bella Montavalo (15 pts 7 rbs) and the great guard play of Julian Torres (10 pts 5 ast) proved to be to tough for the RGV Team Elite led by a very talented Lily Lozano (18pts 7 ast).  Unite Skills Academy was able to keep the Excel Cup with them in San Antonio.

Coach Torres’s RGV Team Elite 5th Grade boys were able to do what the girls were not. A combination of size and talented guard play from Bruno Tellez (21 pts) proved too much for the other 5th grade teams as they took the Excel Cup back to the valley.
