The 6th grade boys division in Texas has become one of the most competitive with teams from every region holding bragging rights of who is the best.  Sunday afternoon was bragging rights for Austin between the ATX Blazers and the Pflugerville Shockers.

The ATX Blazers might arguably have the best big man in the division in Nehikhare Igiehon (23ppg 9rpg).  Igiehon comes from a lineage of successful basketball talent.  Igiehon’s brother is a member of the Texas Longhorns and mom played college ball.  Igiehon is not only big but a great ball handler.  I have been watching the kid develop the past four years and he is becoming an unstoppable force. His 28 points in the Orange 6th Grade boys division Sunday was the most dominating performance of the day.  That being said the Pflugerville Shockers boast size of their own.  Sidney Mbanasor (12.3ppg 6.3rpg) of the Shockers was tasked with the job of containing Igiehon and did a pretty good job. The problem became foul trouble for Mbanasor as Igiehon was in attack mode the entire game.

Pflugerville Shockers Jacob Swoboda (19.7ppg) was a huge factor in the championship with 23 points but the contributions of Igiehon and teammate Caleb Burton’s 19 pts made ATX Blazers unstoppable on Sunday as they took another Championship home.
